Imagine a world without colour, music or design—how dull would life be? Every April 15, World Art Day reminds us of the beauty, inspiration and culture that art brings into our lives. Established by the International Association of Art in honour of Leonardo da Vinci's birthday, this global celebration promotes creativity in all its forms. Art has been a cornerstone of human civilisation for thousands of years, from prehistoric cave paintings to digital masterpieces. Beyond the sculptures and paintings found in galleries and museums, art also lives in street murals, sand sculptures and even beach art, as seen here, proving that creativity knows no bounds. World Art Day, officially observed in 21 countries, is a celebration for everyone, whether you're a collector, a creator or simply someone who finds joy in the colors and textures of everyday life.

So, take a moment today to embrace creativity—visit a local gallery, sketch in a notebook or pause to appreciate the artistry that surrounds you. Among the world's many artistic traditions, Indian art stands out as a rich tapestry of diverse forms, including painting, sculpture, pottery and textile arts like woven silk. Spanning the subcontinent, it encompasses regions that are now India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and, at times, eastern Afghanistan. Whether in its traditional or modern expressions, Indian art is distinguished by a strong sense of design that unites its many styles.

While waiting for summer, we thought we would treat you to a little air of Provence. That's why we leave for Simiane-la-Rotonde, this small medieval village very much from home, located between the massifs of Mont Ventou, Luberon and the Lure mountain. Surrounded by olive trees and lavender fields, Simiane-la-Rotonde, which has been awarded the label of "Village of Character", is dominated by the rotunda of an imposing feudal castle. Its cobbled and sometimes cobbled streets invite you to stroll lightly among the workshops of artists and craftsmen and between the alleys of its covered halls of the sixteenth century.

Simiane-la-Rotonde is home to the largest lavender and lavandin cooperative in France. During your visit to the castle, you will be able to discover all the benefits and uses of the essential oils extracted from the pretty purple flower, emblematic of Provence.
